So I’ve just gotten back from my latest sourcing trip to Hong Kong, but this time I decided to keep a bit of a photo diary to share … by that I mean I flipped on my iPhone to Hipstamatic and went to town. Hardly a photographer in the making!
I do quite love going to Hong Kong. It’s a fun place to be, the dumplings are hard to beat and beers are bigger than they should be.
I’m excited to say that I found some amazing things that we will be developing for the brand for our AW 2012 collection. There’s streets and streets of fabric stores, buttons, beads, laces, trims, feathers, braids, prints, leather …. the list goes on. It’s actually completely overwhelming and each time I go I always leave with my head spinning full of ideas for the season ahead. I’m inspired.
But possibly the most amazing thing I noticed on this trip is that as people, human beings, although we are divided by culture and race and seas, if you strip that all away, we are all essentially the same. With the same hopes, dreams and insecurities all trying to make sense of the world and our place in it.

I had been twenty several years outdated, in university, and dreamed of owning a Mopar “A” entire body muscle car. It was the summer of 1967 and we ended up at Grand Spaulding Dodge drooling over the every one of the muscle Mr. Norm experienced. Norm himself asked if we wanted to determine an “A” physique that Chrysler engineers claimed “couldn’t be built”. He showed us a ’67 Dart having a 383 sitting inside the engine compartment. Wow!! Awesome!! Really cool!! Lovely restored car below…but what’s with that “pistol grip” shifter?? When i graduated from college I bought a brand new 1970 Road Runner with four speed “pistol grip” shifter. Ick. Gimme a good ol’ round white ball anytime.
I also experienced a buyer that wished to pay for thru Pay Pal, she would pay the transaction fee. I checked on Shell out Pal they don’t have any such thing, so I told the gal “fine however the vehicle stays the following right up until the green is in my hands” which was the last I read from her. They have all kinds of angles .
