Jonathan is a Sydney based artist and all-round creative maestro, working his magic across a plethora of mediums …. art, music, fashion … the list goes on … and with an even longer and more impressive list of clients, from high powered fashion designers to uber cool music makers, this boy is definitely making his mark.
And not to be a name dropper or anything but worth noting is his ARIA win for Best Cover Art in 2008 for The Presets, Apocalypso. Certainly makes for a great conversation starter.
His latest installment in the realm of painting entitled, Over Time, recently caught my eye and had me doing the side head tilt and nod as I scrolled over these images. An amazing collection of landscape topographic drawings and oil paintings, that were derived from actual landscape graph data. A 3D model of the linear data is made and then an oil painting created from the model. Too cool.
Eerie or beautiful ?? Surreal or magical ? There’s definitely something going on here. I’m in love with these.
